Pivot
The first non-zero entry in each row of a matrix is called the pivot/leading entry.
Row Echelon Form
- All rows of zeroes are at the bottom.
- Each pivot is to the right of the pivot above it.
Reduced Row Echelon Form
- Is in REF.
- Each pivot is 1.
- The only non-zero entry in each column is a pivot.
